Where's Jordan?

We're going to play a little game called "Where's Jordan?"  It's kind of like Where's Waldo but with me!  I have been gone so much that mom and dad are feeling the empty nest thing already and I'm only 10.
Last weekend was super boring.  I spent all day Saturday finishing up my Lego Millennium Falcon.  It took like 5 hours and mom should have been super happy that I wasn't on electronics but she was ready run, screaming from the house by the time I was done she was so bored.  When I finished, she dragged me out of the house and because she could think of nothing else to do at 4 PM on a Saturday afternoon, we went to look at model homes.  I actually really like doing that too so we had a fun time, getting ideas for our house.
On Sunday, my friend Claire came over for a few hours and since dad was gone most of Saturday golfing, mom took her "me" day on Sunday and left dad with us.  She headed out to a movie.

This past weekend was a little more fun.  I had my softball games on Saturday.  I pitched a total of 4 innings and didn't do too bad.  A little better than last week anyway.
Mom brings Ginger to some of my games and everyone loves her.  She eats up all the attention and makes her rounds getting some love from everyone.  This is Mrs. Healy and Ginger having a heart to heart between innings.

After my game, I headed home with the Healy's for yet another sleep over, leaving mom and dad on their own once again.  I've pretty much decided I want to be adopted by the Healy's.  I love, love, love being over there and apparently they love having me over too!  It's always tons of fun and we always do super fun things.  This time, we went tailgating and then to the UofA football game.  Oh my gosh, it was super fun!

While Ella and I were whooping it up at the football game, mom and dad had actual real, live plans and headed out to a friend's birthday party.  It was a beautiful night and mom actually had to put on long pants and a jacket.  So nice to get a break from the heat AND hang out with friends.

This was the last of our semi-quiet weekends for awhile so the post's should be a bit more exciting in the next few weeks!

Food, Fun, Friends

For being a short week, this was a loooong week.  We made it though and here's the recap.
As most of you know, my Grandpa Vern spends his summers up in the cool country of Show Low.  He grew up on a farm and so it goes without saying that he has an amazing garden at his summer place.  Grandma Sue drove up there on Sunday and came by our house with a massive delivery of fresh picked fruits and veggies, all grown by Grandpa.  We have peaches, pears, peppers, apples,  tomatoes and cucumbers.  We've been eating fresh tomato and cucumber salads all week and mom spent Saturday slicing and dicing peaches to freeze them for something good later on.

The rest of the week past pretty quietly.  We had a really nice storm move through on Wednesday and it rained all day long.  Things dried out by Friday and we had my first softball game of the fall softball season.  I did really, really well all around.  I hit well and I pitched even better.  I ended up pitching four innings, struck out 11 batters and only walked 2.  Not bad for my first night out in several months.

On Saturday, I had yet another sleep over at my friend Claire's so mom and dad were on their own again.  They had plans this time though so yeah for them.  They headed down town for good beer, spicy brussels sprouts, and pizza and then headed over to another restaurant for an "Ice Cream Show Down" that was a fund raiser for a local charity called Ben's Bells.  It's a super neat organization and you should look it up.  Unfortunately, the show down wasn't super well organized and they ended up waiting in a super long line for a super long time so mom and dad bailed out kind of early on that.  But it was a fun evening either way.

Claire lives in Tucson Country Club, so she and I headed up to "The Club" with her mom for a girl's night dinner out.  I managed to lose my tooth while I was there so the Tooth Fairy will be visiting me this evening, hopefully.

The big project on Sunday was installing the new light fixture mom bought for our sun room.  We finally got rid of one of the ugly white ceiling fans.  Now, we need to figure out what to do with the second half of the room.  But it looks better already.

Hope everyone has a great week!

It Ain't Over Yet....

My mom.  God love her.  In case you missed it, her birthday was on Friday.  Dad and I did not miss it.  We were not given a chance to miss it.  She has been reminding us for over a month now that her birthday was on Friday.  So.  We made an appropriately big deal out of it and I think she was pleased.  Whew!
She started her birthday weekend by going to her first "pop up" dinner with her friend Christina.  A pop up works by the diners paying and reserving about a month in advance and then 24 hours before the actual dinner, you get an email with the location and the menu.  The dinner was on a roof top of a really cool bar in down town Tucson with great views.  It ended up being a really fun night with good food and  a super fun atmosphere.  Mom almost felt a teensy bit cool too.

Friday was her actual birthday and originally, dad was going to take me to school and mom was going to head to a doctor's appointment.  However, I really wanted to buy mom a doughnut from the bake sale at school so I insisted she drive me and I then bought her a doughnut.  It was super good and mom enjoyed being treated.
She didn't actually see me the rest of the day because I got a last minute invite to spend the night at my friend Ella's house (which is always super fun for me).  Mom and dad took advantage and went out for a nice dinner.

On Saturday, I didn't get home until almost 3 because I went with the Healy's to Sabino Canyon to go swimming in the creek.  It was amazingly fun and I was amazingly by the time I got home.  There is no rest for the weary though because we were hosting a party so I had to put my party face on and go for it.  Mom made a couple of pies that turned out pretty dang good but no one ate them because.....

Dad and I surprised her with cupcakes from Cold Stone.  These were a huge hit and it made mom quite happy to keep extending her birthday.  And extending.  And extending.

We laid pretty low on Sunday.  Dad went golfing, mom and I hit the farmer's market and then we just vegged on the couch all day.

On Monday, we spent the morning cleaning up the yard and then went to see a movie in the afternoon.  We are sad to see our long weekend come to end but mom still has one more day off.  Remember what I said about extending and extending?  This is the birthday that will never end!
Hope you all have a fabulous week- we will updated you on mom's never-ending celebration next week!
